Army Cadets...
West Cumbria Army Cadet Force Maryport held an Open Evening last night, it was well supported by family, friends, volunteers and those interested in becoming members. There were presentations, awards and refreshments - I thoroughly enjoyed myself listening to how the young cadets enjoy being part of a team, making new friends, going on field trips and volunteering etc. It was also a great opportunity for me to meet with the Maryport Cadet Leader Sgt Hind and Major Wilkinson, our aim is to link the Army Cadets in with NCI Partners so the Cadets can gain vital volunteering experience for their Army Cadet awards/badges and also the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
