in the Whitehaven and Millom areas to
become Gateway Assessors

The gateway approach helps clients to be quickly assessed and their issues
progressed to the most appropriate next stage.  As a Gateway assessor you will explore the clients problem(s) and situation, assess the risk/urgency of the client's issue and their ability to deal with the problem themselves, identify the next steps to be taken and summarise the content of the interview for the client

The Cumbria Federation of Young Farmers Clubs
Northern District Field Day
A week tomorrow since we attended the well organised Field Day at Wood Hall, Heskett-New-Market, Wigton...rather wet, but our spirits weren't dampened by the weather.

I was asked to take part in the Assault Course as part of the "Lamplugh Advisory Team"...well there were two of us, thank goodness 50% of the marks were gained on the fancy dress.  Irayner Walker made an exceptional refugee outfit for her husband David including short trousers, tank top and also a gas mask box etc. we were very impressed.  I decided to go with the second option and dressed up as a land girl, realised later I should have worn armbands and brought some oxygen!

My advice to anyone who wishes to take part in an assault course, running event or any form of physical exercise is to prepare yourself first.  Build your fitness regime up slowly, if you fancy linking in with a fitness or walking group there are many available locally...I don't think two laps round the local shop for your weekly groceries is enough - take my word for it!
