Managed locally and with the benefit of being part of a large national organisation CAB Copeland are looking for trustees to sit on their trustee board and help steer the service.

CAB is a voluntary organisation which provides information, advice and advocacy services to the people of Copeland...all volunteers are fully trained and supported.

CAB are looking for people to help manage and develop this much-needed service...

Citizens Advice Bureau Copeland require volunteers

in the Whitehaven and Millom areas to

become Gateway Assessors

 

The gateway approach helps clients to be quickly assessed and their issues

progressed to the most appropriate next stage.  As a Gateway assessor you will explore the clients problem(s) and situation, assess the risk/urgency of the client's issue and their ability to deal with the problem themselves, identify the next steps to be taken and summarise the content of the interview for the client

and explain what happens next.

During the 16th to 22nd June 2014 - Learning Disability Week is a time of celebration for people overcoming adversity and people's prejudices etc.  For further information check the internet to find out what's happening in your area...I've just had a quick look and there's lots of information out there, many people have posted their first-time stories and experiences!
