Networking Afternoon...
Neighbourhood Care Independence Volunteer Coordinators, Managers and contacts were invited to an Afternoon Social at the Mayors Parlour Workington on Friday 22nd January 2016. A big thank you to the events hosts Mayor Cllr Carole Armstrong, Mayoress Ms Glynnis Ackerlay and organiser Finance & Administration Officer Judith Atherton...a great networking afternoon was had by all served with tea and cake!

New Cockermouth Hub...
New Volunteer Hub opened at the Age UK Office 93 Main Street Cockermouth with Age UK West Cumbria hosting the first Hub on Friday 8th January, Citizens Advice Allerdale held their first Hub last Friday 15th January and the Royal British Legion are due to hold their first Hub this Friday 22nd January. Come along to receive first hand information and advice on local volunteering opportunities 9.30am to 11.30am each Friday, weeks one to four 9.30am to 11.30am. Many organisations have come together including Copeland Citizens Advice, Victim Support, West Cumbria Carers etc. to provide first hand information and advice on local volunteering opportunities. Caritas Care - Did You know?
Due to the recent Floods in Cockermouth Caritas Care have moved from Victoria Hall High Sand Lane, they have been rehoused at the Age UK West Cumbria Shop 93 Main Street Cockermouth. Caritas Care will continue to provide the same service by their volunteers at the new premises every 1st Wednesday in the month 9.30am to 12.00 noon, dates for year 2016 as follows:
